NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A public hearing on the proposed New Braunfels-Seguin Regional Transportation Plan will be held during the Monday, November 28, 2011 New Braunfels City Council meeting. The meeting will be called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building at 424 S. Castell Ave., New Braunfels.

The City of New Braunfels, City of Seguin, Comal County and Guadalupe County have jointly developed a Regional Transportation Plan in order to facilitate the future formation of a proposed Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).

Multiple public input meetings have been held and those contributions have been incorporated into the proposed Regional Transportation Plan, which will also serve as the city’s revised Thoroughfare Plan. The study also reviewed existing plans for the cities and counties to determine the appropriate types of roads, the environmental aspects of relocating or expanding roads, proposed new roadway alignments, transit alternatives and bike/pedestrian needs within the community.
