An overflow crowd attended the City Council meeting last night to weigh in on the proposed parkway plan. Many praised the plan for facilitating traffic flows while preserving the environment and natural areas. Many homes and farms have been protected by the parkway plan.

However, others commented that the parkway plan would be detrimental to their farms in the Engle Road area. Several citizens suggested that these folks work with the city planning department to reach an agreeable resolution to their concerns.

City Manager, Mike Morrison, commented that the transportation decision will impact this community for years to come. He recommended that the council take as much time as necessary to reach a decision.

As usual, realtors, developers and a road builder spoke in favor of putting the Outer Loop back on the transportation plan.

Mayor Pospisil indicated that a workshop and meetings will be held to give the public ample opportunities to express their opinions and concerns.

The meeting dates will be posted when they become available. Stay involved. Your help is needed.
