2nd outer loop meeting tonight

The second public meeting for the New Braunfels Outer Loop Study will take place at 6 p.m. at Hoffmann Lane Elementary School.

The first meeting, which primarily focused on the east side of Interstate 35, attracted nearly 300 residents from Comal and Guadalupe counties.

Wednesday's meeting will focus primarily on the possible construction of the project on the west side of I-35, although booths and information about the project on the east side of I-35 will available, too. [more]

Residents speak out about loop

The first of two public meetings on the New Braunfels Outer Loop Study drew mixed — and at times emotional — reactions from nearly 300 Comal and Guadalupe county residents Monday night.

The Texas Department of Transportation and a San Antonio-based consulting firm are sponsoring two identical meetings to gather information for the necessary planning and analysis needed to identify a corridor for the possible development of a New Braunfels Outer Loop. [more]

The Texas Department of Transportation will hold two public meetings this month to gather input for the New Braunfels Outer Loop Study.

The first will be 6-8:30 p.m. June 26 at Canyon High School at 1510 Interstate 35 East in New Braunfels. The second will be 6-8:30 p.m. June 27 at Hoffmann Lane Elementary School at 4600 FM 306 in New Braunfels. [more]

Officials discuss New Braunfels outer loop

NEW BRAUNFELS — Assuming that the Texas Department of Transportation in the future builds an outer loop around New Braunfels, Comal County Judge Danny Scheel said it is likely to be a toll road.

Scheel made that prediction Wednesday based on how the current Texas Legislature chooses to fund construction of new roadways in the state.

“Right now that’s all I have to work with. They provide the funds to TxDOT. The outer loop probably would be a toll road,” Scheel said after TxDOT officials unveiled a plan to conduct a yearlong study with public input for a 40-mile-long outer loop around New Braunfels that would include portions of Comal and Guadalupe counties. TxDOT Announces Plans for the New Braunfels Outer Loop Study at Press Conference

NEW BRAUNFELS – Wednesday, May 30, 2007, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) initiated the New Braunfels Outer Loop Study. Local leaders joined TxDOT officials to kick-off the New Braunfels Outer Loop Study and the public involvement campaign designed to get local participation in the planning process.

Mayor Bruce Boyer, City of New Braunfels, attended and addressed the growth and development that is taking place in New Braunfels. The Honorable Judge Danny Scheel of Comal County and Honorable Judge Mike Wiggins of Guadalupe County spoke as well regarding growth, accessibility and mobility in their respective counties. They were joined by dozens of local residents and business owners curious to learn more about the proposed outer loop. [more]
